Christmas Opening Hours

Over the next few days we have some changes to our opening times which you should be aware of:

• Thursday 23rd – 09:30 – 14:00

• Christmas Eve to the 2nd January – Closed

• 3rd January – 10:00 – 16:00

• 4th January onward – our normal opening hours resume

But please also be aware that, like many of you, we expect restrictions to be reimposed on hospitality business soon after the festive season. As such we’re not entirely sure what the plan will be for January. All we can say is that we’ll keep you up to date.In the meantime, the whole team here would like to thank everyone for their support over the last twelve months, and wish you all the very best for Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year.

For the Fort’s site opening hours and days, please visit their website.

Evening Events

From 17th May groups of 30 people will be permitted to gather outside and as a venue with plenty of outside space, free parking and toilets that is able to provide event food and has an alcohol licence, The Pantry will be available for evening hire once again from that date.

So if you’ve got a community group, friends group, large family or a team of workmates (but no more than 30 of them!), we would love to host your event. Menu and drinks choices can be tailored for your party and you’d have exclusive use of the venue for the evening.

Get in touch either through Facebook via @pantrychatham email to thepantrychatham@mail.com or telephone at 07752255429

Takeaway Offers

As well as being able to sell most of our original menu in takeaway form, we’ve also added to the range of offers available in an attempt to give people an Eat Out experience in their own homes.

We are continuing to sell our popular Afternoon Tea boxes but have added a special Valentine’s Day Share Box and a Movie Night Share Box, which will happily feed more than one person and include a range of tasty treats mostly made fresh in our own kitchen (we’ve had to do a lot of taste tests, which as you can imagine has been a real chore…).

If you would like any more information or would like to book your box today then please contact us either by email to thepantrychatham@mail.com or via Facebook @pantrychatham

Covid-19 Update, November 2020

Following the recent change in Government advice and the start of a new national lockdown from November 5th 2020. There are a few changes coming, so here they are.

From Monday 2nd November to Wednesday 4th November we will be open from 9am to 3pm with our normal menu, you’ll be able to sit down to eat. Things will be fairly normal.

From Thursday the 5th of November, things get a bit odd (again). We will open from 9:30am to 2:30pm Monday to Friday as a takeaway only. Please note that we will be closed during the weekends until further notice.

There is some good news though.

  1. We’re still open. Just open differently.
  2. We’re still able to offer takeaway afternoon teas (including the Festive afternoon tea) and cream teas.
  3. You’ve got three days this week (at the time of posting) to pop in and get items from the normal menu, sit down with up to 5 other people and make the most of the time before lockdown starts.

While we have tried our best to update everything we can, Our website, Facebook, Trip Advisor pages, some of them do take some time to catch up and some of the information out there might be contradictory for a couple of days. The details above are correct and will be correct until we post an update on this website (and then go through the process of changing everything, everywhere else all over again) – so click the follow button to get up to date information straight away.

Face Coverings

Following changes in the guidance from the U.K. Government this evening, face coverings will be mandatory for all customers inside the premises who are not eating and drinking from Friday 24th July.

We know it’s not ideal. We know it’s short notice. We know some of you may be unprepared, so tomorrow we’ll have a small stock of masks to help people out, but as you can imagine we can’t enter into the free face mask business in the long term.

Thank you for your continued support. So far everyone has been wonderfully understanding given the circumstances.

Nintendo Switch Meet Sunday 9th Feb 2020

We’re happy to be hosting our first Nintendo Switch Meet on Sunday 9th February 2020 between 10:30am and 2:30pm. The nature of the Switch (and of its gamers), quirky, social and vibrant, makes it the ideal device and community for a more connected gaming experience.

The event will be open to all ages and all we ask is that people are respectful, considerate and courteous to other visitors. It should be a fun experience above all.

If the event is a success we will schedule additional meets throughout the year, so please support it if you can.

October Half Term Family Activities 19th – 27th Oct

We’ve also introduced a children’s menu including mini breakfast before 12pm and lunch boxes throughout the day.

Aaaaaaand we’re the venue for the Fort’s own pumpkin carving activity (please check their website for more information, dates and any applicable charges by visiting www.fortamherst.com).

Please note that access to the rest of the Fort Amherst site is restricted at the moment due to the set up for the Halloween Horrors evenings, but tickets can still be purchased via the Fort Amherst website.
